Roger and Andrew White

This was a rapid one day recce east of Berlin in thick snow to check out a future itinerary. After an early start from Berlin we visited the ponds at Linum, Gartz, Gülper See, and Havelberg before getting to Berlin Tegel airport in time for the 1900 hrs flight to London

The 48 species recorded during the day included Whooper Swan (7), Bean and White-fronted Goose (1000+ of each), Goldeneye, Goosander, Kingfisher, 5 White-tailed Eagle, 6 Hen Harrier, 5 Rough-legged Buzzard, Common Buzzards (not counted), Red Kite, 150 Cranes, Great Grey Shrike, Black Woodpecker.
